NHRA Pro-Stock is really the cream of the crop when it comes to maximum dollar spent in the production of horsepower. 7 digit budgets are the norm in this class so needless to say its where the cream of the crop in tuning talent and only the best builders and designers get near these cars. So obviously we’re pretty thrilled that we not only had one car in the final round of competition but we had BOTH cars in the final round of competition at this weeks NHRA event held in Ennis Texas. 

The first of those two racers is Tom Hammonds. Tom has been having a great season for an independent. So good of a season in fact that he gave up his day job as a Timberwolf basketball player to race NHRA Pro-Stock full time. Well only two weeks have passed since he made that move and he already finds himself in the final round. WOW! The carburetor design that’s being used by Tom Hammonds car is a collaboration between Pro-Systems and Billy Glidden (Glidden Racing Engines 317.535.5225). To quote Hammonds crew chief Donnie Gardner. The PRO-SYSTEMS/GLIDDEN collaboration has yielded us the fastest carburetors we’ve ever tried or owned and we’ve done a lot of both.

In the other lane is a man we call V. Gaines. Checkout this photo of his WILD rig:

 

This guy and his talented team are consistent qualifiers and are always a threat when they pull to the line.

 

We started working with Clyde at Western Motorsports in January of last year and its been a great relationship. Congrats to both teams for their final round berth, to V. Gaines for his well deserved win and from all of us at Pro-Systems, “its nice working with you guys”.

What a ride in Reading! Troy and Jeg Coughlin continued their dominating ways in NHRA Pro-Stock. Jeg Coughlin setting the E.T. record at 6.750 and brother Troy (see photo) grabs the win.

 

Jegs may know mail-order, but they also know drag racing (www.jegs.com). The Jegs team uses some of our very custom built dominators to enhance their program.

Dennis Kline of Livernois Motorsports (313.561.5500) has one very quick single carb Top Dragster.

The Livernois built entry uses one only a single carb (one of our Nitrous Pro-IV designs) to go in the 6.6 second zone at over 202 mph. Dennis is the recent winner at the IHRA Autumn Nationals. Great job Dennis and all the guys at Livernois for building a very solid and consistent powerplant.

Ross Stomp switched to Nostalgia Pro-Street for 2001. His Midwest Engine Tech (815.464.9490) powered machine was pretty much unbeatable all year long.

 

Scott at Midwest Engine Tech developed a program that really hauled the mail for Ross this year. Ross’ car also equipped with a Nitrous Pro-IV design, cleaned house at the last event with yet another number one qualifying position, Class record, Win and ultimately claimed the Championship racing with the fan favorite National Street Car Association (www.nscaracing.com).
