Larry Morgan made Crew Chief Bob Glidden very happy in Atlanta when he ended Greg Anderson's #1 qualifying streak.  Larry grabbed the top spot at the 24th annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals.

Anderson was on his way to breaking Bob Gliddens record 23 consecutive #1 qualifying scores (that was every race of the 1987 season) when Larry showed up
and took it all away.  In style too I might add, covering the distance in 6.796 seconds at 202.91 mph. A new track record.

One of our Engine builder customers is 2003 Busch series Engine builder of the year,
Lanny Barnes. Lanny works at Richard Childress Racing building Kevin Harvicks #21
engines. Now, we may have the fastest carburetors in the world, but Lanny has the
fastest hands. Lanny teamed up with Todd Hamm also of Richard Childress Racing
(RCR) and defeated Mike Maiwald and Shane Parsnow of Hendrick Motorsports to
win the final round of the 2004 Clevite Engine Builder Showdown. These two guys
built a complete engine and fired it up in 19 minutes and 52 seconds. Man, don't you
wish your engine builder worked that fast?

Brandon Lundeen made his debut this year with his 2004 Davis Dragster.  Using a new Madcap 565 and a new custom built Pro Systems carburetor (actually the
whole car was new and untested) Brandon relied on the many talented people in the business to have their ducks in a row.  They did and so did Brandon,  taking home the big money with five round wins in a row to grab the Super Pro bucks in the cars first event ever.  Nice work everyone.  Truly a team effort.
