“Rain, rain, go away….”
At the US-131 Dragway NMCA event mother nature was raining on the competition. Our designs were doing their fair share of winning, gathering a lot of event wins during the NMCA season. However, Mother Nature was the one that was really letting the NMCA have it.
So let’s switch our attention over to the PRO-Edelbrock Series and see how last week turned out in Maple Grove.
Rob Golobo and crew…these guys can tune a racecar.
In the hotly contested Nostalgia Pro Street class we had both cars in the final round and the number one qualifier to boot. Dale Pittman contacted us a few weeks back to build some new tunnel ram carburetors for his newest combination. He told us he wouldn't
have a chance to dyno it so he needed them as close as possible as delivered. Matheos Racing engines contacted us shortly after they arrived and said, "We never touched a screw, we bolted them on they were perfect". Dale then went out and promptly qualified
the car in the number one spot. Rob Golobo, however, was right there continuing his winning ways in his sleek 2002 camaro. Rob was the winner over Pittman in the final round. Great job to everyone.
In Cheap Street Jeremy Taylor sporting one of our designs was the number one qualifier and the victor, regularly traveling the distance in the 9 second zone.
In Pro-Stock it was another all Pro Systems affair as Charlie Booze Jr. took out Jake Holdredge. Both cars traveling the 1/4 mile in 9.14 seconds. What a close race!!
In Pro-Street Randy Draffen is proving you can run carburetors and nitrous all season without spending a kings ransom.
Randy scored a Runner Up and ran as quick as 6.68 @ 210.5 mph through the mufflers!!
Congratulations to Justin Bell. Justin made his first appearance in Trans Am competition this year at Road America. Justin scored us a 4th place finish behind the now unstoppable Jaguar train. Trans Am is now an all Jaguar affair, but it's still fun to watch (for now).
Also, congrats to Ray Schuler. Ray is now the fastest automatic car in Top Sportsman competition. Ray's car regularly travels the 1/4 mile in the 6.8 second zone at over 200 mph on a single system. Ray uses a pair of Pro-Systems reworked Dominators atop a
Tom Hemphill built powerplant and only a single Nitrous system to propel his Firebird into the 6's at over 200 mph! Wow!

We're off to the U.S. Nationals and the next NMCA Event (always a great show!) at Michigan the following week. Stop in again and see what's happening.
